*** NEW Delphi Forum now available!
#1
All Delphi users:

After Embarcadero's Forum became unavailable, we have been waiting for a long time for them to come up with a replacement.
As nothing has happened, and we where stuck with this bad pre-historic 'forum' I have decided to start a complete replacement Delphi Forum, which uses the same layout as the now defunct forums.embarcadero.com (which fortunately can still be read, but cannot be posted to).

http://www.delphiforum.net

All developers who previously used the original Embarcadero forum, please *Spread The Word* that a full replacement is now available.

This Forum website is here to STAY and I will keep paying the bills for it.

The Forum runs on a Linux Debian based VPS with a MariaDB (MySQL) back-end, located at a major site in the Netherlands.

Note the correct URL: delphiforum.net, NOT delphiforum[s].net which is a domain stolen by GoDaddy.com to make money out of.

*Spread The Word*

Please don't spam the whole forum with multiple copies of the same message across multiple unrelated categories.

Supposedly one is in the works...

The biggest loss of the old forum was not the layout, but the NNTP access. Something all of the old users desperately want again. Web-based forums just don't cut it.

I applaude the effort, but really, do we need yet another forum to keep track of? You can see how little Embarcadero-oriented traffic this forum gets since AtoZed opened it. What we really need is a more centralized forum, not little forums spread out all over the place. I'll hold out until Embarcadero releases their new forum before I join yet another forum (I'm already tracking several).

It even running the same software as us. Smile I'm with Remy.... we already have Delphi forums here and we can split them, but haven't because of lack of traffic.

The lack of traffic is because not many people know about it.
Most people are in fact on the Embarcadero 'replacement' forums, which has only one forum, and it is nearly impossible to find anything there, not even my own posts.

Anyway, I have put the system in place, yes without NNTP, but still a one-to-one replacement of the original forum.
So if I have problems with Android I use that forum...

I simply do not believe that anything will happen with a new Embarcadero forum. It took me only a few hours work to set this up. We are already waiting for months, and nothing happens.

This forum was advertised in many locations, same as yours. So, it is not that people don't know about it, they just choose not to come here. It might end up being the same with yours. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

The current Embarcadero forum is not the 'replacement' forum, it was just a secondary forum alongside the older forum until it eventually died of technical difficulties. Embarcadero is now working on a new 3rd forum to replace them both.

Because you used a pre-existing forum software. Embarcadero likes to make their own (or heavily customize others), so that takes longer to create.
